Last year my son Bryan and his wife, Ashley, invited me to go to Zambia to meet Ashley's family in Lusaka, Zambia. I was so happy to be invited...anxious to meet her family and even more excited to know that this would be a missions trip as well ! What could be better !? Much prayer went into our trip , for this was a whole new door God had opened for us. As soon as our plane arrived in Africa, we were loaded into a big van and went off to meet up with Ashley's grandpa and the Priest from their church to discuss where we should start. They welcomed us with open arms ! Ashley's mom and sisters were just as excited as we were . And so it began !!!
We went all over the place. We went to a school that is really a garage which is being used as a school for the kids who can not afford a government school . We went to The Divine Providence where we met Sister Judith who is in charge (what an angel she is ), of the sick, frail , and elderly who live there because they have no where else to go . As well as the children who are orphans. We went to a few other schools and walked through the villages. We were able to give out dolls that were hand made by The Giving Doll and oh my gosh you should have seen the faces of those who received them ! Their smiles... priceless !! We played with the kids and had so much fun ! I wish it never had to end ! Nothing brings me so much joy as doing mission work. We gave out lots of shirts and candy and had the privilege of praying with and for so many young and old. We even were interviewed by a radio station ! They wanted to know what True Love Missions was all about and what brought us to Africia ! It was an amazing trip. And I have two amazing testimonies that I will share at another time but for now I just wanted to say this. The whole time I was there I kept thinking it would be my one and only time that I would be there. BUT !!!!! God has His plans. It was only the beginning !!! I can not stop thinking of all those God brought us to without crying. So thank you God.... Ashley's mom Cloretta and her sisters Rose and Jacinta have picked up where we left off. They are just as excited as us ! Together we are now working to spread the gospel as well as help the least of these.
